La Marmotte Granfondo Alpes 2025 — the full results, rider by rider

177 km, finishing at the top of the Alpe d’Huez. This explorer indexes the edition’s timing data: 4,302 classified finishers, timed at 11 mats, a leaderboard for each of the 7 timed sections, and a page for every rider.

Every rider has a page: the split at every mat, the time on every section, and both clocks side by side.

How to read these numbers

Entrants, starters and classified are three different numbers. This edition: 4,945 on the entry list, 4,829 started, 4,302 were classified. Only the last of those is a finisher count, and it is the only one anything on this site is ranked or averaged over. 116 never started; 527 started and did not finish. They are in the dataset with no rank and no time, they turn up in the search box, and they are never counted as finishers.
The ranking clock is net time. Every rank here is on net time — the gross chip time minus the neutralisation credits, which is the basis the official classification was scored on.
Speeds only where a speed exists. A km/h appears only when both ends of a span carry a published course distance and the span does not cross a neutralised section — across those the official clock does not move, so dividing a real distance by zero seconds has no answer.
The section leaderboards are ours. The timekeeper published no per-section classification for this race. Every segment ranking here is derived from its own mat reads: the times are official, the ranking is mine.

Two clocks, and only one of them ranks

Every rider on this course finishes with two different times. Gross is what their own computer showed: start mat to line, everything included. Net subtracts the 2 neutralised sections col du glandon descent and la grave (entrée) descent — and it is the net time the classification is built on.

the ranked time

The credits stored for this rider do not fully reconcile the gross time with the official one, so no identity is claimed here. Both clocks are published exactly as the timekeeper recorded them.

The 2 sections nobody races

The Marmotte freezes the clock on its dangerous descents and credits the time back, so in the official classification they last zero seconds. No leaderboard on this site crosses one.

The credit needs both bounding mats
A rider who lost a read at one end of a neutralised section does not get the credit, and the timekeeper does not compensate. Their official time therefore includes minutes the rest of the field had subtracted — in the time, and so in the rank. Their rider page says so, so that a very long finish is not read as a very long ride.

Compare riders head-to-head
Up to 10 riders side by side, the split at every mat, the time on every section — the group-ride argument from 2025, settled.

When did the field finish?

Finish times in 5-minute buckets, from 5:17:38 to 13:50:00 — the median finisher took 9:31:28.

6h7h8h9h10h11h12h13hriders per 5-minute bucket (max 95)

The bars count every rider with a finish time, which is not quite the classified field: someone who reached the line but was left out of the classification keeps a time and loses the rank. Here the two agree: 4,302 riders in the chart, 4,302 classified.

The cols, timed

Each climb is timed between two mats and ranked on its own.

“Classified timed” is an exact count of classified riders with a time on that section, over the 4,302 classified — a section needs both of its bounding mats, so a missed read drops a rider from it without affecting their overall result.

Rankings at every mat

11 timing mats, and the percentage beside each is how much of the classified field it actually caught. They are rarely equal, and a mat that missed a chunk of the race makes a partial ranking — its own page says so.

Percentages are exact counts of classified riders with a read at that mat, over the 4,302 classified. The start mat reads 4,812 chips in total, but every rider’s clock starts at zero there, so it carries no ranking.

Team classification

Sum of each team’s 3 best classified times. These are the team names riders registered under, which on this race are largely tour operators rather than cycling clubs — read it as a ranking of travel groups with a few real teams mixed in, not as a club classification of the race.

The first-name championship

The ranking nobody asked for: which first name got the most riders to the top of the Alpe in 2025.
