Bayman 2026, every split of every athlete

Three distances in the bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel: the M, the half-iron L and the full-iron XXL. 1,848 classified finishers between them, timed on 11, 16 and 28 mats. This explorer indexes the full timing data: rank at every mat, leg-by-leg rank flow, a leaderboard for each of the five legs including the two transitions, per-category and per-club standings, and a page for every athlete.

What is in here

Rank churn across five legs

The order out of the water is not the order at the line. Every race page opens with the leaders’ overall rank at the mat that closes each leg, so a swim specialist losing forty places on the bike is visible rather than implied.

The run, mat by mat

The XXL marathon carries twelve timing points before the line and the L half carries six, which is enough to see where a run came apart rather than only that it did.

Distances nobody had to guess

Every checkpoint here has a course distance published by the timekeeper, so the speeds on this explorer are arithmetic rather than estimates. Most race explorers on this site cannot say that.

Three races, not one race in three sizes

Each race below is its own explorer with its own field, its own mats and its own rankings. Nothing here merges an athlete’s races into a combined result, and the two vocabularies the timekeeper uses are left as published: the M and the L are categorised in federation codes (S2H, M3F), the XXL in age ranges (25-29 H). Four names appear on two start lists, which at four occurrences and with no birth year in the feed is as likely to be two people sharing a name as one person racing twice, so no page here claims it is the same athlete.

Three things to know before you trust a number

Finishers, not entrants. The start lists hold 2,092 names and 1,848 of them were classified (Bayman M 644 · Bayman L 874 · Bayman XXL 330). Athletes who did not start or did not finish are in the data with no rank and no finish time, and are never counted as finishers. On these three races the three ways of asking the question agree exactly, which is not true of every race on this site.
Every checkpoint distance is the timekeeper’s own. Every checkpoint on these three races carries a course distance published by the timing provider, including the 100 m it assigns to each transition, so nothing on this explorer is interpolated or estimated. Speeds follow the leg: min/100 m for the swim, km/h for the bike, min/km for the run, and nothing at all for a transition, where a published 100 m would turn a two-minute change of shoes into a plausible-looking 3 km/h.
Twenty-seven leg times are held out of the leg rankings. A leg time is held out of these rankings when an athlete who finished outside the top 500, or did not finish at all, beats the fifth-fastest time set on that leg by the top 50 finishers. It is a test for phantom checkpoint reads. It flagged 27 leg times here, 26 of them from athletes who were not classified anyway, plus one bike leg on race L recorded as 6 minutes for 91.5 km. Flagged times stay visible on the athlete’s own page. Because the test compares ranks rather than speeds, it can also catch a fast athlete who abandoned later, so it means "not usable in a ranking", not "cheated".
🐛 Something looks off? Wrong time, missing athlete, a leg that does not add up. This is a one-person side project on top of raw timing data, and reports make it better. Email me or ping me on LinkedIn.

About this project and its data. The results are Sport Innovation / TimeTo’s — the official timekeeper of the event. They were fetched once after the event and republished here with segment times, recomputed leaderboards and a page per athlete that the official results do not offer. The timing is their work; the analysis is mine, and any mistake in it is mine too. Course details come from Bayman Triathlon du Mont-Saint-Michel, the organiser. Athletes who asked to be anonymous in the official results stay anonymous here. Names and bib numbers come from that public classification and nothing else; if one of them is yours and you would rather it were not here, ask me and I will take it off — the result stays as an anonymous line so the totals on this page remain correct.
