When you will be at each summit
Choose a finish time. The planner finds the steady effort that covers the official course in that time and splits it section by section. The default is the expected median finisher, 9h22.

How it works. Each section’s gradient comes from the official profile. The planner solves for the one steady power that covers all of them in your riding time, using standard road-cycling physics (air drag for a rider on the hoods, rolling resistance, gravity). The 4,850 m includes short rises the profile does not print; their cost is added to the near-flat valley sections. Descents are not a matter of power, so they are capped at the speed you choose.
Descent speeds. On the 2026 Galibier descent, riders finishing around 5,000th averaged 28 km/h and the top 100 about 39 km/h; on the 2025 Roselend descent, 36 and 52 km/h. Those sections include some flat road, so they are a guide, not a target.
What it leaves out. Riding in a group (faster on the flat), fatigue (the last two climbs will feel slower than this plan), heat, and road closures. Read the power as an average: real riders push harder on the climbs and ease off on the flat. The organiser has not published cut-off times for 2027 yet.
