AI Hotel Landscape: the November 2026 edition
The first monthly edition. The same 616 hotel prompts in 56 destinations went to ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode on Monday 2 November 2026. This note compares it with the last weekly edition, captured on 19 October.
- ChatGPT gave a link for more of the hotels it named: 79.9% of mentions, up from 66.8%. The extra links went mostly to hotel and chain sites; links to OTAs stayed under 1%.
- ChatGPT named fewer distinct hotels (2,212, down from 2,340) and cited fewer sources per answer (22.8, down from 26.6).
- Google AI Mode named more distinct hotels (1,438, up from 1,288). Its OTA links rose from 3.3% to 4.7% of its hotel links.
- Marriott's share of chain mentions rose on ChatGPT (19.0% to 21.9%) and on AI Mode (22.4% to 27.6%), and was flat on Gemini. Four Seasons replaced IHG in ChatGPT's top five.
- More ChatGPT answers ended with a follow-up questionnaire: 381 of 616 (61.9%), up from 319 of 609 (52.4%).
- Gemini returned sources again (2,784 across 1,232 answers, none on 19 October). They name real publishers, led by the same sites as in August (Expedia, Hotels.com, Forbes Travel Guide), and are back on the dashboard from this edition.

How this edition was measured
What changed in the measurement, not in the answers.
- Monthly from November 2026: one capture on the first Monday of the month, published once it passes the data checks. Earlier editions were weekly.
- Hotels are counted after matching each mention to a hotel record; unmatched names are left out. Link kinds use the same domain rules as the dashboard, with four corrections made for this edition (a link back to chatgpt.com is no longer counted as a hotel site, yanolja.com is an OTA, atlantis.com a chain site and burjalarab.com a hotel site). The 19 October figures were recomputed with the same rules.
- Since 19 October Google AI Mode keeps only the links it cites, so its sources are not compared with earlier editions.
- Gemini's hotel links have been hidden since 19 October, when its answers stopped carrying the rendered page; they stay hidden here.
Earlier editions are in the archive.
