The first-name championship

Forget categories. Which first name brought the most riders round the 174 km and over the line — and which one got there quickest? It is the one classification of 2020 you could improve by deed poll. With 34 nationalities in the results, it is as much a map of Europe as a leaderboard.

Postponed from July to 5 September 2020 and run at roughly a quarter of the usual field size.

Every first name in the field has a page, not just the 150 below. Accent variants are merged, so “frederic” finds the Frédérics too.

Top 150 first names among the 1,827 classified finishers of La Marmotte Granfondo Alpes 2020, as spelled at registration — accent variants (Frédéric, Frederic…) are grouped under the most common spelling. Times are net: the neutralisation credits are already subtracted, exactly as the classification scored them.

Names on the same number of finishers share a place, so a run of 62nds is a tie and not a rendering fault.
