Write down who you are once - your role, projects, preferences, and files - and Claude reads it on demand, so you never re-introduce yourself at the start of every conversation. Connect once and Claude can: - Read your compiled profile: a compact, curated summary of who you are, built only from facts you have accepted. - List and search your files, and read a file's full extracted text. - Answer questions from your documents with cited passages (ask_docs), so responses are grounded in your own material. - Run exact counts, sums, filters, and grouped totals over a CSV or spreadsheet table (query_table) deterministic answers, not estimates. - Read context that others have deliberately shared with you: a person's shared profile, a public @handle, or a teammate's context on a Team plan. - Suggest updates to your profile as it learns about you. Suggestions are saved as pending items for you to review - nothing is ever written to your profile or files without your approval. You stay in control. You curate what is in your context, review everything an AI proposes to remember, and can revoke access at any time.
